2013 NW Weavers Conference
Sponsored by the Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds

The 2013 NW Weavers Conference, sponsored by Association of Northwest Weavers' Guilds, is currently in the planning stages. As more information is available it will be posted here. Mark these days, June 17-23, 2013 on your calendar and check back soon.  The conference will be held on the campus of Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA.

The 2013 conference theme is "Crossing Borders, Crossing Threads." It is an appropriate theme for a weaving conference at Western Washington University, so near the Canadian border in Bellingham. It is a theme that honors the influences of the many cultures whose people have crossed borders and brought their weaving traditions with them. The theme also celebrates the influences of woven borders and traditional cultures on design and color in our modern world.

The primary conference host for 2013 is the Seattle Weavers' Guild. Joining the Seattle Weavers Guild members in planning the conference are ANWG member guilds from through northwestern Washington and British Columbia.

What's ANWG

ANWG is an association of fiber arts guilds located within the Pacific Northwest United States and Western Canada.

ANWG does not have individuals as members but each Member Guild is composed of individuals. Individuals pay dues to their Member Guild and the Member Guild pays dues to ANWG. Click here  to learn more about ANWG.

Our Marketplace will be open to those attending the conference and the general public. The Marketplace entry is free!

Conference Registration

Guild Booths

Calling all Guilds!  Association of Northwest Weavers’ Guilds Conference (ANWG) member guilds are invited to sponsor a booth for the ANWG conference.  Summer of 2013 seems like a long way off, but it is not too early to begin dreaming about the design for your next ANWG booth.

The theme of the conference, “Crossing Borders, Crossing Threads” speaks to the ties that bind us together as weavers.  Let this theme of global community be a starting point for your imaginations to “follow the thread” to what binds your guild together and what connects it to guilds throughout the northwest and to weavers throughout the world and across time.  ANWG member guilds are warmly invited to explore this theme, celebrating and exhibiting work produced by guild members and helping us all get to know each guild better.

In mid-2012, your ANWG member guild will be receiving more specific information about how to reserve a booth space and additional data regarding conference colors, logo and other pertinent data. Meanwhile, let “Crossing Borders, Crossing Threads” be your guide and plan to join us in the Guild Booth hall in 2013.
